Dearest LICK,

THANK YOU for the package! It was the best mail I've ever received here! You know, it's funny because I didn't have the best of week, and I felt kinda crappy today. Steph told me she got a package from you guys, so I went to check my mail. Seriously, my heart was beating faster when I got the package. I took the tshirt out and held it up to look at it, and I think this girl was watching hehe. And then I saw many little notes in the envelope. I read them all, I stared at them! You guys...! They were all very very sweet! I couldn't have asked for a better surprise. And God timed it so well! He knew I needed that package today.

So then, I decided to write this entry to tell you guys how much it meant to me and how I absolutely loved it! You guys are awesome! I was talking to my friend yesterday (or more like early early this morning) about how different it feels to hang out with Christian friends. And I thought of you, of our sentosa outing, of the 'bbq' at Eman's, of parents' appreciation night, of walking from kallang to my house and climbing that fence, and of the countless fridays spent at Ama's place. And I missed you! You guys know I love you, but I think today I fell in love with my beautiful cell all over again =). Thanks for being so thoughtful lickites! See you all very very soon!!!

ok i hope im doing this layout thing right. i dunno how to upload more than one pic without messing up the entire layout. but anyway, this to the left (i hope) is my OCF small group! it's like my cell group for the year. All of them are singaporean except for the dude holding the cupcake (yes it was his bday and we got him a VERY MACHO pink cupcake.) i'm going off for a retreat with OCF in about half an hr and totally looking forward to it =D fun fun fun. will take pics and hopefully put them up in a few days.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

God does not need you to defeat the devil today. Jesus has already done it and given you the victory. (Colossians 2:15, Romans 8:37) Your part is to enforce the victory by simply standing your ground, which is victory ground. In other words, you “fight” from victory ground by standing. You don’t fight for victory.

In Ephesians 6:10-18, the passage on spiritual warfare, the word "wrestle" appears only once (verse 12), while the word "stand" appears four times -"...stand against the wiles of the devil.." (verse 11), "... withstand in the evil day..." (verse 13), "... and having done all, to stand..." (verse 13), "Stand therefore...". (verse 14) Four times the Holy Spirit tells us to "stand". Yet, many Christians are focusing on wrestling their way to victory!

My friend, you are already on victory ground. You already have everything in Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:21, 23) You are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3). The devil knows this. And that is why his tactic is to deceive you and make you think that you don’t have the victory.

So when he attacks you by saying, "Look at that meagre balance in your bank account! How are you going to pay the bills?" stand your ground. Declare, "I am not trying to be rich, I am rich. In Christ, I am rich!" It doesn’t matter how much you have in the bank. You are rich because you are in Christ. And as the need arises, the supply will be there if you believe you are rich.

It is the same with healing. The devil will try to attack you with symptoms in your body. He will try to put pain in your body, and make you feel weakness here and there, so that you think that you are still sick. He is trying to make you believe that you don’t have your healing. Call his bluff there and then. Say, "No devil, I am not trying to get healed, I am healed! I am standing on the victory ground which Jesus gave me!"

My friend, it makes a world of difference when you fight from victory and not for victory!

So church has been talking alot about victory and in cell we watched the video on victory...thought i'll add to it! remember. speak with faith! watch whatever we say.....and fight from victory! hahah. :D

Well, clearly God is on our side; He wants to help us in everything that we do. We need to just be still even in the midst of busy schedules, and know that He is God.

hello everyone! do you think prayer and praise last week was really cool? i thought so. i think God was really there in our midst! :D we had praise time, and i think u all really had fun dancin around and jumping right? even in the ending, we were still praising God and worshiping Him. i thought it was really cool! n like we also had our quieter times too. i was glad we could come before God, seeking Him and jus listenin to Him.

Pastor Kim Lang did say something important too. she talked about prayer and praise and how we dont come for the sake of supporting the church. we come ready to praise God and to have a meeting with HIm. i thought that was really....like enlightening. haha. i mean we always say, jus go for prayer and praise....cuz the church wants to go..i know its boring..etc but go. but in the end, our hearts not right when we go with this mentality. and im glad this time, the prayer and praise really felt like prayer and praise. and we were really there to seek God and hear from Him from than jus..going for the sake of it.

i think it really was encouragin too when the adults asked the youth what problems are we facing so they can pray for us. it was nice of them right, gave us a chance to tell them the troubles and stress of life....i felt really encouraged by it...

so anyway, i hope prayer and praise from now onwards would be REAL PRAYER AND PRAISE and thank you all for comin! i think they were really encouraged to see so many youth present even thou its exam times. its cool! n i think all of you all also met with God that day...

so praise God for the cool worship time! soon we'll be lookin forward to prayer and praise yea?? hahaha.

I hope y'all aren't sick of me already haha. There's just a lot of things happening lately, and I wanna share them with u guys. So, on sunday we went to a chinese restaurant for dinner. I ate so much! I had 2 meals basically, and then I had fruits, and a huge cup of ice cream (their small size is equivalent to 3 scoops in singapore!!). But it was good! I went to the gym today heh heh. I don't wanna come back fat in december! Anyhow, here are some pics.

Hello ppl! I went to a petshop yesterday,and they had cute animals!! Puppies, kittens, birds, hamsters, and others. I asked the shop assistant if I could play with the puppies and he said "oh you have to be 18" (and gave me this pitiful look)...-_-..and i said "I am 18! no, I'm actually 19!" and he looked just a little shocked "oh you are?!" hahha..then he said "of course, which one do u want?" whoa, we got to pick which ones we wanted to play with! so here are some pics..we played with 2..brenda, dont these pics make u want to come n visit me?!

singapore airlines rawk!
u know why? they have super good hot flight stewardess
to attend to you, and they will smile no matter how demanding your
order is . im not sure about the food, but i know you can watch the movies on board a thousand times, and its FREEEEE, and you can never get tired, cause if u did, u sleep and wake up to find yourself restarting the whole movie, thats one thing good about long flights, i went to enlgand and i slept about 1/2 of the flight and the other watch movies or looking around or playing or looking out into nothing but pitch black! i miss that .
how can you not sleep on the plane?! i think its so cool, unless u have a flu then the seat would be damn annoying cause its furry! grrrr .
yeahhh! of course its us-sy, cause WE wrote it,
and your uni sounds so small, cause everythings so efficient and convenient, hahaha .
anyway steph! u'll appreciate the hot water, sooon, when i was in austria, the water was freezing and it was freezing everywhere, and when its in winter, u just wanna soak in the hot water the whole time, get a water-proof laptop cover and u can surf and soak! hahaha, surf and soak!
what do u mean by dodgey area? does it mean its very wall-y?

hah. ok. so i've already UK-greeted all of you from the tagboard.. but here's the official update! yes. i just got an email from jessie with a pile of questions in it.. so i hope you dont mind jessie, but i'll post my reply plus more whatnots up here =)

ohohoh. before i start...... CHECK THIS OUT. IM BLOGGING FOR THE FIRST TIME. wahahaha. how odd is this. that, by the way, is the new steph word for the season. odd. yes. i dotn know why, but i've been saying it alot lately. too much. its getting very.. well.. uh.. odd. =P

so yes, before i go off topic even more (now we understand why LICK is so talented at going off on a tangent during word time), let me start the update on the uk.

The flight here was great! i LOVE singapore airlines. it rocks. wahaha. (i sound like jessie!) by God's grace, we managed to get fantastic seats in the plane.. fantastic meaning that we got FOUR WHOLE SEATS for me and my mum. alot of space to lie down and sleep the whole flight. ironically, i didnt do that. heh. the main reason i like sg airlines is cos they have SO MANY MOVIES. so many GOOD movies. i watched 3 movies in a row. didnt stop until my vision went blurry. whooo. fun. the food was pretty good too. and thanks to me being completely zoinked after the movie marathon, i got 40 mins of sleep altogether! which is VERY good for on-flight-sleep-phobic me.

With all this said, the best part of the flight has yet to be mentioned. it was when i got to read all ur letters, drawings, photo cards and yes, pillowcases =) i loved it. yes, it made me all nostalgic.. but i still loved it! i could imagine each of you saying the things you wrote in ur cards.. it was so you! haha. that sounds odd. "it was so you!".. hmm. odd indeed.

ok thats just my flight.. and i have to go to the supermarket in 10 mins. whoops. i should stop waffling on so much.

next up, my hall! everytime i mention it to someone, they all have the same reaction. "*mouth wide open* no WAY.. oh no! *furrowed eyebrows*"... =P ah well. its actually not as bad as i thought. i shall state the good things first... just to make sure you guys dont go slit ur wrists or anything before seeing the good in it. It's near a major shopping area. think far east or heeren type of shopping place. cheap, trendy and ALOT of tiny stores. it's got 3 UCL halls in one compound. so im not the only one going through this "oh no" worthy hall. It's got a straight bus to my uni that runs 24-hrs. its got.. uh... security guards. yes. which is supposed to be very good. ok.. u can tell im running out here.

ahem. on to the.. complaints. THE WATER IS SO HOT HERE. AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE TEMPERATURE! i come out completely red from being almost boiled by a shower........ which IS quite comical if you think about it. hehehe. i'd be laughing if it wasnt me. which means you all should be laughing round about now.

like i told alot of you.. my area is a dodgey area.. just yesterday when i was walking back late at night with mummy, we saw two guys in front of us exchanging something VERY shadily.. like one of those hand exchanges that others are not supposed to see. whooo.

Those are the major downsides to my hall.. and the first one will get much better in the winter. actually, it'll probably be a blessing =) the second one, well.. im sure God'll take care of it if He wants me to stay in this hall. i'm applying for a change as early as possible (oct 14th), but i dunno if i'll get it. If i dont, God has a plan. so im not worried about that. and plus, i'm absolutely blanketed in all your prayers. which i've been seeing come to pass even now when its so early on.

I've met quite a few friends already.. and everyone's pretty friendly here since we're all in the same boat... being freshers or newbies to the college. It's been super cool meeting ppl from random countries like romania or columbia. oh and did i mention that my hall is full of chinese students? so i get to practice my chinese! whoohoo for me. I may come back with better chinese than when i left =D

i havent been to a church here yet.. i'll be visiting my bro's one tmr. excited to visit a church in london =D There's a christian society in my uni's student union as well as OCF.. overseas christian fellowship. so yes.. plenty of opportunities for me to be plugged into the christian network here =)

ok i now see why blogging's so popular! i can literally go on and on if i didnt have a time limit.. super blabbing opportunity. whoohoo.

ohoho. before i go off, i heard about last cell time! from the very diligent jessie who is keeping to her once-a-week-email thing. hahaa.. thanks jessie! and ama won almost one of the last at uno! haha! amazing! i've never hear of that! how come that had to happen when i left. eee. no fun.
